About Me

My full name is Mohammad Ridwan, but everyone including my parents use to call me IWAN. I am a graduate student in George Mason University, and my major is Data Analytics. I got my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science seven years ago at Diponegoro University, Indonesia. After I got my bachelor degree, I immediately worked at one of the biggest bank in Indonesia. The name of the bank where I used to work in, is Bank Rakyat Indonesia. I have been assigned to several position during my time in Bank Rakyat Indonesia, such as IT Programmer, IT Engineer, Account Officer, and Assistant Manager. The most challenging position for me was IT Engineer. I think that was the most challenging position for me because I served as an IT Engineer in Singapore Branch. I was dealing with many things during the time as an IT Engineer such as the IT regulation, the technical problem for international transaction, the core banking trouble shooting, and accounting report.

Currently, I am in my second semester pathway at Mason. I take two major courses during this semester. The two major courses are Analytics Big Data to Information (AIT 580) and Applied Statistics & Visualization for Analytics (STAT 515). After I finish this second semester, hopefully I will be able to matriculate to the data analytics degree. The total of the courses that I have already taken if I matriculate next semester are three courses since I already took one course during the first pathways semester. Since this semester is my second semester in pathways, I feel that this semester is more challenging compared to the last semester. The most challenging and interesting part for me during this semester is on my two major courses because I must learn and use the two new programming languages, such as R and Phyton. Also, I feel that those two languages programming are important for me because almost every company now use those two languages programming to analyze their data in order to obtain their business requirements.
